Aeroplan offers terrible customer service

Still not a word back from Aeroplan however I was able to open an account in my dads name while

My moms is still deactivated and the cancelled Air Canada flight funds were moved into my dads AC wallet and can be used for my parents future travel or someone else they chose

To book a flight for like me, their daughter :) At least there was finally a resolution despite the inconvenience and huge hassle!

You cant get in touch with a live person! I was on hold for 1 1/2 hours and nobody came.

So I just hung up. I need help changing my password. Can you believe it? Imagine someone using Aeroplan for actual flights and hotels and coming into issues.

Ha! Good luck. There is nobody there! Nobody helps you and the automated voice is no help at all.

Constantly says it didnt understand.

Aeroplans customer service is non existent. What a joke.

Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with apology. I called the customer service again and spoke to a rep who was more patient to resolve the matter than the first rep I spoke to.

I have been with Aeroplan for many years. My Aeroplan number has been the same all that time.

My sympatico email address that I use to log in to Aeroplan has been the same for several years. My password has been the same for a long time. Six weeks ago, I used my Aeroplan number and password and used my accumulated points to book a hotel in Brantford, Ontario. Last Friday, December 1, 2023, I wanted to check on the number of points I still have.

But, I could not log in using the very same Aeroplan number and password I had used a mere 6 weeks prior. The Aeroplan website was of no help. I tried to change my password, but couldn't do that, either. So, I called Aeroplan at the telephone number for customer service.

I was put on hold for 1 hour and 35 minutes, but, by 10:30 p.m., I hung up. The next day, Saturday, I called the same number at about 8:20 a.m. I was put on hold. Shortly after 10:00 a.m., after holding for over an hour and a half, a person finally came on the line.

The representative tried several things but could not fix the log in problem.

I had previously received notices from Aeroplan (on my sympatico email service, no less) stating that changes had been made to heir system. t

Now, here is my concern: the rep. said she would have to pass this on to their IT Department. But, she could not say when they would contact me.

She suggested it might be a few days, or even a week!!

I told her that this was unacceptable, but she stated that she was not the IT Dept. and had no control over when they would get to my problem. She did not seem to care that I wanted to use my Aeroplan points soon. Here was a situation where I DID NOTHING WRONG, YET I WAS MADE TO FACE THE NEGATIVE CONSEQUENCES FOR SOMETHING THAT WAS IN AEROPLAN'S CONTROL.

The rep. stated that Aeroplan might be having problems with the sympatico email system; but, that was bogus because my wife, who is on sympatico, and who also could not log in to Aeroplan initially, was able to change her password and then log in without further difficulties.

I feel Like I am being treated like trash, like no one really cared about my matter or about resolving it expeditiously.

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!

Horrible call experience

Had to call to discuss issue and concern regarding usage of my points for a planned upcoming trip. But of course, never got to speak to anyone.

Have been waiting now for 35+ minutes and counting. But the real frustration is that nothing tells you how long the wait might be or what position you are in the queue. So you don't know if you might get to speak to someone in the next 5 minutes or 3 hours!

And while you initially have an option to have someone call you back, you don't know when that might be (even approximately).

So if it's going to be when I'm unavailable that wouldn't be helpful anyway.

For a company/ business so large and to treat its customers this way is deplorable. They should be boycotted!

It's now 40 minutes, and counting.

I flew from LHR > YYZ > BOG and back in October/November last year.

This was the first time I have flown with AC. AC lost my bags for 3 days on the outward leg, and 2 days on the way back.

I am diabetic. My medicine was in my baggage. The bag was also damaged in transit. It has been 3 months now, and I still havent received any compensation.

This is being dealt with in a separate complaint.

To add insult to injury, I have checked an I have 0 points in Aeroplan. When I filled in a missing points form, your website told me that my points had been transferred to another provider.

What provider?!?

Please can someone Help. I have spent hours in phone queues and I am getting nowhere.

I am seeking compensation for the baggage delays, the 3 month+ wait, the hours spent on the phone, a partially ruined holiday, and a medical scare.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Automated voice prompts and website successfully designed to anger customers

I think they've achieved their goal. If I was Aeroplan, and my goal was to anger customers, whether contacting by website or by calling into a voice-prompt, I would do things exactly as they have: voice-prompts that don't understand clear no-accent English, offer maybe 5 options -- with no "other" nor "something else" -- to keep the caller in circles and not reach an expensive human, awesome. A website that, say, offers a choice to a do a thing, but dumps them in a contact form that asks really private things to not give an answer: perfect.

They have achieved their goal of angering customers and avoiding spending on expensive human contact nearly flawlessly.

Now, if they wanted happier customers, well, that's clearly not their goal here, but I wonder if it's something they could consider.

I applied for the TD Aeroplan credit card to earn more points, but a bank employee created a new Aeroplan code for me. Now, I have two codes.

I need to merge the two because I can't access the new one. I tried to check the points, but the system informed me that I couldn't access it because I already had an account. I tried to merge online, but the system doesn't work.

I also tried calling the airline, but it was impossible, too; their system mentioned that they could not transfer me because of the volume of the calls. The system suggests I do it online, but the system doesn't work online.

Please can you help with this?

Trying for two weeks to get a booking-horrible service

I tried to use my points to book a trip for February 2024 in Since October 2023. I tried for weeks, holding 23 hours a time.

Or the Robot voice would say after profiling you I am sorry we have got an exceptional volume of calls, use the website and hang up.

I have tried booking on the website multiple times and will give transit times of over 20 hours or more. Finally, I booked via Emirates and paid for the fare. Now trying to book a trip to Tanzania, same issue. I have points, and it is of no use since cannot get an agent to help out as it is multi city and the website cannot handle it.

With profiling I think we are discriminated, need to use the points and look for another card like RBC Avion. We pay 140 per year and this is a sham

Locked out of aero plan by air Canada aeroplan

Well aeroplan locked me out of my account because they thought I was hacked. After almost 4 hrs on phone and talking to 5 people on mar 5/24 as they monitor calls.

Bull shit!,!All I want is them unlocked so I can cash them. This is worse experience ever and goes back to how air Canada runs their business.No resolution yet

The worst level of customer service

I have yet to find any company with such a terrible level of customer service as Aeroplan. Air Canada does not help at all as they consider Aeroplan as a totally different entity even though it appears on their same website- a smart policy to avoid headaches.

Aeroplan suddenly deactivates accounts without having the decency or courtesy to inform the member of the reasons behind their actions.

Contacting them is utterly useless as they will never respond. I have heard tons of horror stories about this company which should be avoided at all costs!

Itinerary change

My reservation (Booking reference: 345GH3 ) changed the return flight from February 18th. However, due to the increase in the number of stopovers, and it being very long, I do not agree with this option and there are no other options as I consulted the website.

Therefore, I request the cancellation of this trip on the 18th, keeping the outbound section on February 9th. And after the refund of the miles for my Aeroplan.
